HOME OF THE VIKINGS
Taft Grade School District 90 was named in honor of William Howard Taft — the 27th President of the United States (1909-1913) and the 10th Chief Justice of the United States (1921-30). President Taft is the ONLY person to have ever served in both roles. President Taft was born on September 15, 1857, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and died on March 8, 1930, at the age of 72. He is credited with improving the economy and helping to build the government of the Philippines during his term.
